EXPERIENCE, INTEGRITY, RESULTS
It's an old saying: There's no substitute for experience. For nearly 20 years, PHOENIX has helped hospitals invest in growing their case mangement programs. Ours is a business where cumulative experience - the knowledge that comes with time - helps us, and ultimately our hospital clients, to achieve the outcomes they envision. Our experience enables us to recognize patterns from the past, to understand business cycles and medical trends, and to have the courage in the face of increasing pressure to challenge the status quo.
Hospital case management is no longer about utilization review and discharge planning. In the current economic climate, hospital case managers must work alongside their clinical colleagues to effectively orchestrate the patient's progression-of-care from entry to exit.....and often, beyond. As a result, hospital executives are re-evaluating their case management business objectives and operational strategies. In order to achieve a wide range of organizational goals, many of these medical and executive leaders will turn to PHOENIX Medical Management as a trusted advisor to help transform their hospital case management program to meet tomorrow’s needs.
For nearly two decades PHOENIX has delivered proven, forward-thinking solutions and real results. As the nation’s premier advisory firm dedicated exclusively to hospital case management, PHOENIX has combined the talent of several experienced consultants in the healthcare industry to serve clients throughout the United States. Our corporate goal is to exceed the needs and expectations of our clients and to be a positive influence on the future of hospital case management. Our mission is to become our clients' strategic partner - not a vendor of consulting services.

Welcome to the February issue of REFLECTIONS, the new name for our monthly e-newsletter. The lead article is about 'leveling the playing field' between the hospital and its medical staff with the Federal prepayment processes adopted by the MACs and the RAC demonstration project. We also feature a research stufy on meds that are responsible for ED visits and emergency rehospitalizations which supports our contention that the clinical pharmacist must take an active role in preparing patients and families for transition from the hospital. As always, we welcome your comments and thoughts.
